The Weekend Review

I've been pretty busy these last few days so I haven't had a chance to post anything, as much as I'm sure you are all super-curious about my life. I had a blast in Austin this weekend and a nice day on Monday.

Started out getting into Austin earlier than we planned on Friday due to the fact that my work took longer to wrap up than I expected and we missed out on going to the Shiner brewery. No worries though, we managed to kill the excess time with some Sandy's burgers and checking out some Austin sites.

Enter the night. Sam and I met up with some of our friends at one of my favorite Austin bars, Cheers Shot Bar. How can you go wrong with a bar dedicated to shots? The other perk about Cheer's is that they are one of the very few bars in the state that will do my favorite shot, a Flaming Dr. Pepper (see below)

10 of those later and thus ended the night...

Saturday started waaaaay too early. We managed to get to ziplining on time though, and had an amazing time doing it. So much fun! We plan on going back out there one of these weekends and doing the more advanced course. It looks pretty cool with log bridges in the sky and swinging from rope to rope! Here is what the zipline looked like....our guide Andie was nice enough to take a camera with her on the way over.

After finishing off the zipline course we booked it back to Austin to go check out the mighty UT Longhorns put a whoopin' on OSU. Defense needed to step up their game a little, but all in all a fun time.

Dinner time then more drinking. Guess what we were drinking....more Flaming Dr. Peppers, surprise surprise. This time we went to Pure, a rocking 3 story club across the street from Cheers.

The morning was slow moving as always. Nobody ever seems as motivated then as they were the night before. But after getting some food in us and gas in the cars, we started the long weary trek back to Houston. I will not get into details that could be used against me in a court of law, but the trek back to Houston ended up not being long or weary at all *wink wink*

Monday was not nearly as much fun, so I won't go into the details as much, but I had a Sporting Clays tournament to compete in for a work function. It was fun and way better than sitting in the office all day. I didn't win anything, but I did really good for never being in a competition before and beat everybody else on my team! 82 out of 100....not too shabby.

Well I hope everybody else enjoyed their weekends as much as I did. Now it's time to prep for the upcoming weekend and our 3rd Annual Olde Tavern Halloween Bash. It should be an awesome time as always!
